Frequantly Asked Questions, Starlite Room weddings.

What is included in your wedding packages? 

All wedding packages are the flat, basic rental fee.

Ceremony packages starting at just $200

  • This includes a two hour venue rental.  You and your guest will have a half hour to mingle/find their seat prior to the ceremony. The extra time after the ceremony is reserved for photographs. (You will be responsible to book your own photographer,  however we are also happy to help you with our preferred venue contact photographers who will be providing couples who book at the venue a discount.)

  • Access to decorate for 1 hour prior to the event. This time will be set with the event coordinator, and is typically the day of the event.

  • Chairs for your guests. Chair set up and tear down provided.

  • Access to a basic PA - 2 powered speakers, with 1 microphone.  An iPod or laptop can easily be played through this system for the ceremony.

  • *Note: A venue sound technician is required to use the venue line array PA system and soundboard.  If you wish to have a band,  they will require the use of our in house sound board, this requires a Starlite approved audio Engineer or Technician, their rates start at $325.00.

    • For more complex lighting outside of a static lighting scene on stage. Access to our stage lighting rig will also require a Starlite approved lighting designer for an additional fee of $150.00. 

    • An additional fee of $150.00for use of projector rental and screen.

    • Venue does not provide instruments and backline for bands,  however this could be easily arranged and rented through our preferred vendors. 

  • Access to our green room and private restroom.

  • Bartender(s) and floor manager staffing

Reception packages starting at just $300

  • This includes a full evening  rental. 

  • Access to decorate for 2 hours prior to the event. This time will be set with the event coordinator, and is typically the day of the event.

  • Tables and chairs for your guests, including set up and tear down. (Linens are not provided)

  • Glassware, flatware, plates and paper napkins. (Linens are not provided)

  • You will have the venue until 3:00am, with alcohol service until 2:00am. If there are less than 10 guests left at the event, Starlite Room staff reserves the right to do last call.

  • Bartender(s), servers and floor manager staffing.

  • Access to our green room and private restroom.

Combinations starting at $400

  • This includes a day/evening  rental.

  • Chairs for your guests during the ceremony. Set up and tear down included.

  • Tables and chairs for your guests during the reception, including set up and tear down. (Linens are not provided)

What are the stipulations for decorating?
Nothing that compromises the integrity of the building (nails, screws, staples, duct or tuck tape, etc.)

  • All real-flame candles are to be a minimum of 2” below glass

  • Things like confetti, glitter, feather boas, straw, moss, etc. are not permitted and any extra costs due to cleanup associated with these items will be billed to the client.

  • All décor must be removed from the premises on the date of the event unless alternate arrangements are made with the event coordinator.

All the catering for Starlite Room Events is provided in house.
Can we bring in outside wedding cake or desserts? If so, is there a cake-cutting fee?
Yes, we permit outside wedding cake and/or specialty desserts as long as they’re prepared in a commercial kitchen/facility. We charge $150.00 cake cutting fee for any cake that is to be portioned, plated and served by the venue. If cake is self-served, there is no charge. Plates, cutlery, napkins, banquet table, and paper napkins will be provided.

All bar and alcohol service for Starlite Room Events is provided in house.
Do you permit corkage?
Yes. It is $10.00 per bottle. (Ice buckets are not provided). Although we suggest ordering your wine through us. We will charge you the cost of the bottle plus a $5.00 corkage fee, much cheaper!
Are we allowed to provide our guest with an open bar? Are we allowed to provide our guests a toonie bar?
The Starlite Room has preset alcoholic beverage prices. If the couple, chooses to provide their guests with an open bar, or a toonie bar we will provide the couple with a set amount of drink tickets to provide their guests. For example, you are having 200 guests, and would like to provide them with 5 alcoholic beverages each, $6 (per drink) x 1000 (beverages) = $6000.00 plus an 18% gratuity. The couple can either sell these drink tickets for a toonie a piece to their guests, or give them to their guests.

What is available for parking?
There is a large Impark lot (paid parking) next to the venue,  just south of our building. Your DJ, bands, limousines (or bridal party convoys) and other load-in subcontractors can use the street parking lot in front of the building.  If they require additional time, rather than the allotted time set by the event coordinator, we are able to book a exclusive street parking permit with the City for an additional $150.00.

What is the payment schedule?
We take a non-refundable deposit of $1000.00 to hold the date and secure the venue. Once your menu is chosen(a minimum of one month prior to the event) and your RSVP’s have been returned (a minimum 2 weeks prior to your event), the remainder (after the deposit is deducted) of the room rental fee and food balance is due a minimum of two weeks prior to your event, all additional fees, (parking, sound engineers, wine etc.) is to be paid at this time as well.  If any additional fees incur over the course of the evening, this balance is due a maximum of 2 weeks after the event. 

Can we schedule a wedding rehearsal?
A one hour afternoon rehearsal may be scheduled free of charge, depending on event space availability, in the two weeks leading up to your event.

Is the Starlite Room wheelchair accessible?
Unfortunately not.

Can we put out a honeymoon jar?
A honeymoon jar or Couple fund can be put out but needs to be clearly labeled to distinguish from bartenders’ tips.

How does gratuity work?
18% gratuity is added to your food and beverage (if acquired) bill. It is split between all staff working the event. Bartenders equally split all cash tips and make gratuity only on alcohol served.

Do you do food tastings?
Due to the volume of bookings and the capacity of our kitchen, we do not offer private tastings. Our menu can be sampled at venue organized events such as our Open House. The event coordinator is available to assist in recommending menus based on preference, dietary restrictions, itinerary, budget, and portion size. Our Chef also runs the kitchen in our pub River City Revival House, located downstairs of Starlite Room. The kitchen s open from 11:00am until 1:00am, 7 days a week, so you can almost always taste what she’s cooking up.

When are we required to provide the final guest count?
A guest count is due a minimum of 2 weeks prior to your event. Catering order is due one month before your event.

When is your Open House?

What is a “preferred vendors” list?
The Starlite Room and our parent company ConcertWorks are professional event planning companies. If you book your wedding at our venue we will be able to work with you planning your special day, making sure no detail is overlooked! Other special events surrounding your big day can also be planned with ease.

Set up a meeting with one of our consultants or come to our open house. Our preferred vendors list includes the following:

  • Wedding Showers, Bachelor and Bachelorette party packages

  • Hotels Accommodations, Travel Agents

  • Yoga/Meditation, Massage Therapy

  • Invitations/Thank You Cards/Save the Date designers & printers

  • Party Favours (mints, patches, soap, etc.)

  • Flowers, Greenery, Decor, Centrepieces 

  • Entertainment (music, DJ’s, bands, karaoke, etc.)

  • Photo Booth, Photographer, Videographer

  • Minister/Justice of the Peace

  • Hairdressers, Makeup Artists

  • Wedding Cake, Bakeries

  • Custom Boocha

  • Custom casked beer

  • Transportation

Please note that all quotes from our preferred vendors are the full price, prior to the discount you will receive after to booking at the Starlite Room (most vendors have offered our couples 5% to 20% off).
